Thanksgiving is celebrated to thank God for the meal and meal is the major attraction of Thanksgiving Day. Unfortunately, there is no menu which will be liked by all as you don’t know the taste of your guests but you can plan best menu to cater the majority. Turkey, pumpkins, potatoes, apple pie and other menu items are loved by the majority of people so it’s better to plan around these eatable items which can later be given as Thanksgiving favor too.

It is wise to plan well in advance otherwise you are bound to see some last minute mess. While planning a Thanksgiving menu you need to consider few factors which are really vital in planning a perfect Thanksgiving menu. You need to know ethnicity, taste and allergies (if any) of your guests before planning otherwise all your efforts might go in vain.

Considering the space constraints of your home make a list of people (Friends, family members) to invite for Thanksgiving party. While planning you need to ensure that the people have proper sitting place, and you have ample dishes to serve everyone.

When it started Thanksgiving Meal was served in courses. It would be better to plan and serve in courses starting from light food which can contain vegetables, cornucopia food items and then move on to heavy meal like turkey, meat and finally you can serve dessert (apple pie).

You can ask your close friends or any family member to bring wine, appetizers which will save you time. You can pay for these later depending upon your understanding with your friend. If they can come bit early to help that would be great. Remember, it would be wise to ask them well in advance so that they can plan their schedule accordingly.

Turkey takes lot of time and your oven will be busy for most of the time so plan to cook other dishes separately. People mostly have one oven so it’s better to plan ahead otherwise you will keep on waiting for your oven to be free.

If you are planning to serve multiple dishes then you should plan the order of your dishes to avoid any embarrassment in front of your guests.

Finally, Thanksgiving celebration doesn’t mean that you should busy yourself in kitchen and find no time to have fun with your friends and family members. Plan your meal in such a way that you find ample time with your guests without affecting your cooking.
