Thanksgiving celebrations is full of fun and mouth watering dishes. Unfortunately, these dishes might not be apt for a diabetic person. The conventions of diabetic diet are straight and simple; they should stop the consumption of alcohol, sweets and fat. Moreover they should add lots of nutritious food into their diet which is evident in their changed lifestyle. If you are inviting someone who is diabetic then you should prepare separate food for him keeping his health in mind.

A diabetic person cannot enjoy normal food like others as it might raise the sugar level in the body so plan your recipe wisely. Use maximum quantity of fresh vegetables, fruits, whole etc. and minimum quantity of meat and dairy products grains while preparing a thanksgiving diet for a diabetic.
 
The best possible way for preparation is to prepare all the traditional thanksgiving recipes in a diabetic friendly way. Use green vegetables for stuffing as much as possible.
 
To retain the flavor and taste of fresh fruits and vegetable it is advisable to go with steaming along with herbs instead of slightly cooking the vegetables.
 
Avoid carb-centric dishes as much as possible and if possible use fresh seafood.
 
While preparing stuffing be cautious and remove all the mashed potatoes from the stuffing.
 
Prepare a pumpkin pie made by using a canned pumpkin. Be very careful and add no sugar to the preparation.
 
You can place vegetables, low fat season vegetables as a platter. Do not use heavy spices and make the food light on oil and spices. Moreover, you can use fruits with strawberry toppings as an added flavor.
