How to Celebrate Thanksgiving In Tough Times

Celebrating Thanksgiving is a joyful time for a family but due to sudden demise of a near one or stringent budget can cast a shadow over your public holiday. This Thanksgiving you should ensure that you celebrate with joy and passion and adapt to the sudden change which destiny has brought upon you. Like a wise man once said “Time and Tide Wait for None” similarly you should adapt yourself with the environment you live in. Situation will change and change is eminent but you should not get discouraged by the tough times ahead rather show your inner zeal to fight back and enjoy even in rough phases of life.

Grandparents passed away: You must be enjoying your Thanksgiving at your Grandparents home but due to their demise this year, you have to celebrate Thanksgiving either at your home or your family member’s home. Take turns for each year and keep the tradition alive. In the party you can share your blissful thoughts and remember your grandparents by cherishing the nice time you had in your previous years.

Stringent Budget: Due to economic instability this year you might not be able to spend lavishly like last year. Do not get disheartened as money got nothing to do with passion. You can cut your budget on almost all the necessary items, keep the guest list short but still enjoy the Thanksgiving without any economic frustrations. You can ask your family members and friends to bring in something (candles, wine, desserts) which will not hurt your wallet but help in setting the festive mood right.

Travel Distance: These days cost involved in traveling to visit your loved ones in going high. Nowadays, traveling is not that easy as it was few years later. If your folks, family members or friends live quite far then traveling becomes a costly affair. If you are unable to attend their Thanksgiving party just give them a call and acknowledge that you can’t attend due to travel. You can send them greetings via internet or send flowers. Alternatively you can visit any family members or in laws who lives nearby.

Aging parents: You must have enjoyed many Thanksgiving with your parents in the past but due to frequent health problems they can’t host a Thanksgiving party this year. Now, it’s time when you should take up to this responsibility and host your own Thanksgiving by inviting all friends and family members on behalf of your parents. Your parents will surely love this gesture and feel proud on you.
