How To Avoid A Lonely Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving is another festival just like Christmas where we share stuff with our friends, family members and loved ones. Nobody likes to be alone on Thanksgiving Day because there is no fun in celebrating either Christmas or Thanksgiving alone. But, due to distance or family conflicts sometimes we avoid going home and celebrate with the family. Reason can be anything but the fact is that any festival is not complete if you are away from your loved ones.

In this article I am going to tell you how you can enjoy and have fun on Thanksgiving Day without being alone. Let’s face it, loneliness is no fun and it may spoil your mood too. If you can’t reach back home due to distance or some conflicts you should not lose heart and feel lonely. There are various activities and ways to find company and have fun on Thanksgiving.

It would be really painful and boring to stay at home and watch movies. Alternatively you can have fun by signing to local soup kitchen and help the elderly people in old age homes. These folks are also lonely and they will surely bless you for making their festival special by your presence and services. It will serve two purposes, one you are not alone second you are making sure that others are not alone either.

You are not alone who can’t attend his/her family Thanksgiving. If you search you will find many people either at your office, synagogue, church or apartment building who are alone at thanksgiving. You can plan well in advance and invite all of them to attend your own Thanksgiving party. You can have a blast with these new friends and they may become your festival partner for a long time.

If you find peace in helping others or love to see a smile on the faces. Try serving your day in children’s hospital or orphanage. You find the company and those children find someone who really cares.

There are various groups in which you can enroll yourself who visit lonely people staying in prisons, hospitals or nursing homes. These people have no real option of celebration but your presence will certainly make them feel confident and cheer up their dull life.

You can book a trip to some cool and happening place to have maximum fun during Thanksgiving holidays. Of course it depends upon your budget and office holidays.

Be brave and declare that you are lonely this Thanksgiving day amongst your friend. There are chances that you will be invited by one of your friend. If not you can try another friend.
