9 Easy Tips To Cook Turkey For Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving Day or Thanksgiving is a religious celebration to give thanks to the God which is now also considered as a secular holiday in US. In United States Thanksgiving Day which is an anual tradition is celebrated on the fourth Thursday in November which has also become a federal holiday since 1863.

Thanksgiving Day is celebrated by all family members and friends coming together to celebrate this auspicious day. Ever since its start Turkey is considered as a main food for thanksgiving. In this article I will tell you how to prepare a Turkey for your dinner.  Turkey preparation method and planning so that you can enjoy the holiday with your family without any upsets. A big frozen turkey of about 15-20 pounds may require up to 3 days defrosting completely so it would be wise to plan accordingly. Planning is critical as thawing a frozen turkey will take more time than expected.
 
It would be wise to remove the wrapper from turkey the day before you plan to roast. Just leave the turkey uncovered overnight in the refrigerator for crisper skin.
 
Cooking a turkey in microwave is best but it depends upon whether you have purchases a frozen or fresh turkey. A fresh turkey may require 10-15 minutes at 350 degree per pound but frozen turkey might require more than 20 min per pound.
 
Do not dense the turkey with lots of stuffing’s otherwise it might not cook properly and evenly. You can add aromatic vegetables, onion and garlic which can add more flavor to turkey.
 
If you love to put lots of stuffing’s then you can cook the dressing and stuffing in a separate casserole dish.
 
Coasting the turkey’s outer sides by olive oil, vegetables and seasoning it with pepper and salt. Use an aluminum foil which should be tightly covered over turkey’s breast to protect it against overheating.
 
Put the turkey in the oven and do not open the oven from time to time. It’s better if you open the oven only when the desired time set is over.
 
Once done checking to see if the breast reads 180 degrees and stuffing at 165 degrees. If the temperature is right then it’s the right time to remove the turkey from oven.
 
Carving the turkey with electrical knife will be the best option. Do not let the turkey loose heat before you carve. You can use your time which is approximately 15 minutes from taking out from oven to prepare gravy.
